Hardevinder Singh Sandhu aka Hardy Sandhu who has created a sensation on YouTube with his song titled ‘Backbone’ started his career as Cricketer.
He played for Punjab over decades as a right-arm fast bowler. He played three matches in first class cricket and took 12 wickets.
However, despite being told all through his training, he entered the playing field without warming up and got himself injured. It cost him his first dream—cricket.
Due to injury Hardy had to give up cricket in the year 2007. And it was then, when Sandhu shifted his focus from sports to singing. Though cricket may not have worked out for him, but his albums have surely worked up a storm at the musical box office.
He rose to fame from his hit song ‘Soch’. His performance was also praised in his debut Punjabi movie ‘Yaaran Da Katchup’
