The fourth Test between India and England kicked off on Friday at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi, and it was a day filled with exciting cricket action. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, England faced a daunting challenge against the formidable Indian bowling attack.

Mohammed Siraj’s masterclass

On the opening day, one particular moment stood out amidst the thrilling encounters – a remarkable delivery by Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj that left fans and pundits in awe. In the 76th over of England’s innings, Siraj produced a delivery that will be remembered for its sheer brilliance.

Coming in from a wide angle, Siraj bowled a delivery that angled back into the left-handed batter, Tom Hartley. Anticipating the movement, Hartley made a defensive play, but to his dismay, the ball jagged away wickedly at the last moment, beating his bat and crashing into the off-stump.

The delivery was a testament to Siraj’s skill and control, showcasing his ability to move the ball both ways and deceive batters with his variations.

Akash Deep’s Debut Heroics

Another highlight of the day was the debut of Bengal pacer Akash Deep, who was called up to the Indian squad in place of the rested Jasprit Bumrah. Akash’s journey to the Test arena was marked by anticipation, and he did not disappoint with his performance.

Despite a nervy start that saw him overstep for a no-ball while dismissing Zak Crawley, Akash quickly found his rhythm and made an impact. He claimed his maiden international wicket by inducing an edge off Ben Duckett‘s bat, displaying his ability to generate movement and trouble the English batters.

Akash’s memorable debut continued as he picked up two more crucial wickets, dismissing Ollie Pope and Crawley to leave a mark on his first outing in Test cricket.
