IPL 2017: MS Dhoni axed as Rising Pune Supergiants captain

MS Dhoni has been sacked as the skipper of the team Rising Pune Supergiants for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

As per the reports in India today, the franchise has appointed Australia’s Steve Smith as the new captain.

Meanwhile, Dhoni has also been informed about the decision by the franchise.

Under MSD, the Supergiants managed to win only five out of 14 matches in their debut season.

Also, Dhoni’s form was the another concern for the franchises as he scored 284 runs in 12 innings with only one fifty to his name last year.
