Chennai Super Kings fall to second straight loss in IPL 2024
The CSK’s IPL 2024 campaign has hit a stumbling block. After starting with two convincing wins at home, they have suffered back-to-back defeats in their away fixtures. New captain Ruturaj Gaikwad‘s form is a concern, having only managed 88 runs in four matches at a strike rate of 118. This contributed to CSK failing to capitalize on a decent start, ultimately ending their innings at a modest total of 165 runs.

Ruturaj Gaikwad explains CSK’s batting struggles after defeat
Gaikwad addressed CSK’s struggles after second consecutive defeat against SRH and acknowledged that a promising start wasn’t capitalized upon. He highlighted Sunrisers Hyderabad’s dominant powerplay, where they amassed 78 runs while only losing one wicket, as the turning point in the match.
“I think to be honest, it was a slow pitch, They bowled well in the back-end, kept the game in control and didn’t allow us to capitalise. I thought we did well in the beginning (of the match), but they came back well later,” said Ruturaj.
