In the ongoing clash between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Trent Boult’s fiery delivery dismantled Quinton de Kock’s stumps in a sensational display of bowling prowess.
Flying start by Rajasthan Royals
Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, RR’s captain, Sanju Samson, entrusted Trent Boult with the new ball. The left-arm pacer’s early spell aimed to rattle the LSG batting lineup, and he delivered precisely that.
Trent Boult strikes early
Facing Boult’s first over, LSG’s opener De Kock initially seemed to assert dominance, hitting consecutive boundaries off the first two deliveries. However, Boult swiftly turned the tables on the South African batter with a masterful display of skill and precision.
The beauty of Boult’s delivery
On the third ball of the over, Boult conjured a delivery that left De Kock bamboozled. A short of good length delivery, coupled with late movement, deceived De Kock’s attempted shot towards the on-side. However, the ball sneaked in, deviating sharply at the last moment to crashed into the off-stump.
The electrifying moment was captured and shared on social media platforms, showcasing the sheer brilliance of Boult’s execution. The video clip swiftly garnered attention, with fans and cricket enthusiasts lauding the Black Caps pacer’s skill and precision.

KL Rahul shines with the bat
While De Kock failed to impress, LSG skipper KL Rahul led from the front, smashing a sensational knock to help his side post a competitive total of 196/5 in 20 overs. Rahul top-scored for LSG, with 76 from just 48 deliveries, including 8 boundaries and 2 sixes. Apart from the captain, Deepak Hooda was impressive as well. He scored 50 from 31 balls with the help of 7 boundaries.
