Afghanistan’s opening batsman, Mohammad Shahzad went past India’s skipper Virat Kohli in terms of T20I career runs on Sunday during the third and final match against Ireland at the Greater Noida Sports Complex, Noida. He went past Kohli when he scored his third run in the T20I.
During his innings of 72 against Ireland, Shahzad now has 1779 runs in T20I’s which is greater than Kohli’s tally in this format. He is now behind Martin Guptill (1806), Tillekratne Dilshan (1889) and Brendon McCullum (2140).
Shahzad made his T20I debut in 2010. He has played 58 T20I matches for Afghanistan till date with 1 century and 12 half-centuries in this format.
