Facing Chahar’s first delivery, Gaikwad struggled to negotiate a length delivery outside off, resulting in a nick to the wicketkeeper. This sharp catch by Jitesh Sharma marked the end of Gaikwad’s innings. Immediately after, Chahar had the explosive Shivam Dube in his sights. Dube, who had previously succumbed to a golden duck in the last match, suffered a similar fate as he attempted to cut a wrong’un to the off-side. However, he only managed to edge the ball to the wicketkeeper, resulting in another golden duck.

Nearly a hat-trick
Chahar’s exceptional over came tantalizingly close to a hat-trick, as Moeen Ali’s attempt to tackle the wrong’un resulted in a faint touch off the bat’s toe end. Despite Chahar’s dive in anticipation, he narrowly missed out on claiming a return catch and securing a third wicket in the over. Following this near-miss, Chahar remained undeterred, subsequently dismissing Mitchell Santner. His final figures stood at an impressive 3/25 from his allotted four overs. For CSK all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja shown some late fight as he played a important knock of 43 in just 26 balls and took the score to 167/9.
