In the fourth T20I of the India Women’s tour of Bangladesh 2024, India delivered a commanding performance to defeat Bangladesh by 56 runs at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. This victory gave India an unassailable 4-0 lead in the five-match series.

India Women Innings:

India posted a competitive total of 122/6 in a rain-shortened 14-over match. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur led from the front, scoring a robust 39 off 26 deliveries, adorned with five fours. Supporting roles were effectively played by Dayalan Hemalatha and Richa Ghosh, who contributed 22 and 24 runs, respectively. Bangladesh’s Marufa Akter and Rabeya Khan each took 2 wickets, but the Indian batters managed to keep the scoreboard ticking.

Bangladesh Women Chase:

In response, Bangladesh Women struggled to build momentum, managing only 68/7 in their allotted 14 overs. Dilara Akter was the top scorer with 21 runs, but the lack of substantial partnerships and a tight bowling attack from India stifled their chase. Deepti Sharma and Asha Sobhana were particularly effective, claiming two wickets each while maintaining economical rates.

Standout Performers:

Harmanpreet’s pivotal knock not only anchored India’s batting but also earned her the Player of the Match award. On the bowling side, Deepti’s spell was crucial in curbing Bangladesh’s run chase, proving her mettle in crucial overs.
