India-Pakistan’ last meeting in T20 World Cup
During the 2022 T20 World Cup, India faced off against Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), emerging victorious with a thrilling four-wicket win. After being asked to bat first, Pakistan posted a competitive total of 159/8 despite a shaky beginning. Shan Masood (52) and Iftikhar Ahmed (51) both notched fifties, forging a crucial 76-run partnership to resurrect Pakistan’s innings. Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya scalped three wickets each.
In reply, India stumbled with a poor start, losing four wickets for just 31 runs in six overs. However, Virat Kohli‘s blistering 82 off 53 deliveries and Hardik’s steady 40 off 37 formed a pivotal 113-run partnership, steering India back into contention. Kohli’s individual brilliance guided India to victory as they clinched the match by four wickets. Kohli was rightfully awarded the Player of the Match for his exceptional innings.
