In a display of camaraderie mixed with competitiveness, old friends Virat Kohli and Ishant Sharma engaged in banter during the clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Despite the intensity of the game, the veteran players showcased their entertaining side, adding a unique flavor to the encounter.

During the match, Ishant delivered one of the friendliest send-offs witnessed in cricket history after dismissing his old friend, Kohli, in the fourth over of RCB’s innings. Kohli, who initiated the banter, showed his intent by smashing a boundary and a six off Ishant’s bowling. The exchange of words started when Kohli edged one to the boundary, followed by a commanding six into the stands.

Friendly banter turns competitive

After Kohli’s impressive shots, Ishant responded by beating him with a delivery, prompting a friendly exchange of words between the two. However, the banter took a competitive turn when Ishant managed to dismiss Kohli with a wide delivery that swung away after pitching.

Ishant Sharma’s friendly send-off

Upon dismissing Kohli, Ishant celebrated exuberantly, walking up to his friend and pushing him lightly in a jovial manner. Kohli, understanding the spirit of the moment, sportingly accepted the gesture and returned to the pavilion with a smile on his face.

After being put into bat, RCB managed to set a challenging target of 187/9 within their designated 20 overs. Rajat Patidar stole the show with an impressive half-century, scoring 52 runs off just 32 balls, injecting vital momentum into RCB’s innings. Additionally, Will Jacks and Cameron Green made notable contributions, hitting 41 and 32 runs respectively.
