The former India captain was asked about his retirement plans during RCB’s Royal Gala Dinner preceding their crucial Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Bengaluru on May 18th. Virat answered, “It’s just about not leaving any undone business behind and not having any regrets later, which I am very sure I won’t. Once I am done, I will be gone, you won’t see me for a while. So I want to give my everything till the time I play and that’s the only thing that keeps me going.”

Dominance of Virat in cricket

Virat boasts an impressive array of records. He excels across all formats, with 113 Test matches under his belt, accumulating 8848 runs at an average of 49. He has notched 29 centuries and 7 double centuries in this format alone. In the ODI arena, the 35-year-old has participated in 292 matches, amassing 13848 runs, including a record-breaking 50 centuries.

Additionally, chase master holds the record for the most runs (4037) in T20 internationals, boasting an average of 52. Currently, he leads the IPL season with 661 runs in 13 matches, owning the orange cap.
