Renowned Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has aligned himself with the viewpoint expressed by the captain of the Indian cricket team, Rohit Sharma, regarding the Impact Player regulation in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
Virat Kohli expresses his opinion
During an interview on Jio Cinema, Kohli emphasized the necessity for the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) in India to reassess the recent regulation, which, in his opinion, has significantly disrupted the equilibrium of the sport. Kohli underscored that not all bowlers possess the exceptional abilities demonstrated by players like Jasprit Bumrah or Rashid Khan, who exhibit remarkable skillfulness and resilience in preventing boundaries.
“I agree with Rohit. Entertainment is one aspect of the game but there is no balance,” Kohli said on Jio Cinema.
“I think it has disrupted the balance and a lot of people are feeling this way, not just me,” he added.
“Not every team has a Bumrah or the mystery of Rashid Khan,” he concluded.
