Ravichandran Ashwin breaks Dale Steyn’s record of most Test wickets in a season

On Saturday, Indian off-spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin has added another feather to his cap.

Ashwin broke South African speedster Dale Steyn‘s record of most number of Test wickets taken in a season.

Steyn picked up 78 wickets in 2007/08 season, which was equalled by Ashwin with the dismissal of Glenn Maxwell during the second innings of the 3rd Test.

And now, on the opening day of the fourth Test match in Dharamsala, Ashwin dismissed centurion Steve Smith to surpass Steyn and take his tally to 79 for this season.
