IPL 2017: Shane Watson likely to lead RCB in Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers’ absence

After RCB skipper Virat Kohli was declared unfit by BCCI for the initial phase of upcoming IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) coach Daniel Vettori said that AB de Villiers will lead the side in Kohli’s absence.

But now after the reports of AB de Villiers’ back injury, his participation in the first few matches also seems to be unlikely and therefore RCB camp is considering Australian all-rounder Shane Watson for the leadership job.

Watson has earlier captained Rajasthan Royals in IPL season 7 and 8. He also has leadership experience at the International level.

Well, as per the media reports, RCB camp have suggested that they will go with Shane Watson as captain in case AB de Villiers is not fit to lead the team.
