Team India captain Rohit Sharma received an enthusiastic welcome from his childhood friends upon returning home after the grand T20 World Cup 2024 victory parade in Mumbai on Thursday (July 4). The parade, organized to honor the team by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), brought the city to a standstill, highlighting the overwhelming support from fervent fans.

The festive atmosphere of Mumbai

The atmosphere was particularly electric for local hero Rohit, who led Team India to their second T20 World Cup victory. This win was especially significant as it came 17 years after their inaugural triumph in 2007, a tournament where Rohit had been a young emerging player. The parade, stretching over 2 kilometers, saw traffic halted across Mumbai, turning the streets into a sea of blue with fans cheering for their beloved team.

Celebrations at Wankhede Stadium

Following the grand parade, the celebrations continued at Wankhede Stadium, where the players were formally honored. The stadium echoed with cheers as Rohit and his teammates basked in their historic achievement. The event was a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication, and the immense pride felt by the entire nation.
