Manu Bhaker etched her name in the annals of Indian sporting history by clinching the bronze medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the Paris Olympics on Sunday, July 28.

With this remarkable achievement, Manu became the first Indian athlete to win a medal at the ongoing Games and also the first Indian woman to secure an Olympic medal in shooting.

The 22-year-old displayed nerves of steel throughout the competition, consistently delivering accurate shots. Despite facing stiff competition, Bhaker maintained her composure and finished with a score of 221.7 to secure the bronze. While narrowly missing out on silver by a mere 0.1 points, her performance was nothing short of exceptional.

India’s medal tally in shooting now stands at five, with Bhaker joining the illustrious company of Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Abhinav Bindra, Gagan Narang and Vijay Kumar.
