Dating for a long time now, former Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan and Bollywood actress Sagarika Ghatge both took to their social media accounts to confirm that they were engaged.
Zaheer took to Twitter on Monday and shared an adorable picture with the caption, “Never laugh at your wife’s choices. You are one of them !!! Partners for life. #engaged @sagarikavghatge.” Sagarika also shared a lovely pic with Zaheer and wrote, “Partners for life !!! #engaged @ImZaheer.”
The couple kept their relationship low-key in the past and hence left everyone, including Sagarika herself, surprised when they got engaged.
Sagarika said that they went to Goa during the break between the matches of ongoing IPL, where the Delhi Daredevils skipper proposed her.
“It (the engagement) was a surprise for me too as it came right in the middle of the IPL season. We wanted to get away from the city as we had two days off in between matches. So he flew me to Goa for a day and that’s how the engagement happened,” Sagarika was quoted as saying, according to Mumbai Mirror.
When asked about the wedding date, she replied, “Let the Indian Premier League get over first, then, we will decide on a date. Right now we don’t want to get stressed because Zaheer is focussed on the matches.”
Talking about Zaheer, the Bollywood beauty said, “I’ve known him for the last two years, there’s always a connection which brings two people together.”
