IPL 2017: During a T20 match played between the Gujarat Lions and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Green Park stadium, Kanpur, the SRH skipper David Warner had a bit of luck going his way.
In the 11th over of the second innings, Warner tried to cut the delivery bowled by leg-spinner Ankit Soni towards the fine leg but all that he could manage was a faint edge.
Gl’s wicket-keeper, Dinesh Karthik pocketed the catch and Soni started to celebrate. However, umpire Anil Chaudhary stood unimpressed in the appeal and ruled it not out.
Lions fielders were stunned by the umpire’s call and Munaf Patel even walked to Warner and had a word with him. Karthik and Soni could not believe what then just happened. Warner also opted to stay back and did not walk away.
At the end of the match, the Australian batsman remained unbeaten on 69 runs off 52 balls with 9 fours and lead his team to a victory in a crucial encounter.
