Fun and games at the CEAT cricket ratings awards
Recently, Star Sports India shared a short clip of Harmanpreet participating in a fun segment called the ‘Spin the Wheel’ game. In this segment, the female host asked her a series of interesting questions that were unrelated to cricket, focusing instead on films and other topics. Harmanpreet was asked to spin a wheel, and based on where it stopped, she had to answer the question in front of her.
The first question was about her favorite TV cartoon show, to which Harmanpreet responded with “Tom and Jerry.” When asked to choose between Tom and Jerry, she picked Jerry. The next question was about her favorite villain character in the Indian film industry, and Harmanpreet chose Sonu Sood, who played the role of Chhedi Singh in the Salman Khan starrer 2010 movie Dabangg. When asked to named her recent favourite dance step, Harmanpreet picked the signature step of the viral song “Tauba-Tauba” by actor Vicky Kaushal. The host then asked her which songs or singer she listens to during her workouts or free time. Harmanpreet chose popular Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh and his song “Jind Mahi.”

A few months ago, she appeared as a guest on the show “Dabur Vita presents ‘What Women Want’” Season 4, hosted by Kareena Kapoor. During the show, Kareena posed an intriguing question: ‘If you could date any actor, who would it be?’ After pondering for a moment, Harmanpreet revealed her choice, saying, ‘I really liked Ranveer Singh, but now he’s already married,’
A surprising snub in the WBBL
On the cricket field, Harmanpreet faced an unexpected turn of events when she was not selected by any team in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 2024 draft. This development came despite six other Indian players securing contracts for the upcoming 10th edition of the tournament. Harmanpreet, who has previously played for Sydney Thunders and Melbourne Renegades in the WBBL, was among 19 Indian players included in this year’s draft but found no takers. However, she was named the captain for India’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad.
