Hobart Hurricanes stellar win against Adelaide strikers

The match took place at Bellerive Oval in Hobart, where the Hobart Hurricanes Women put on an impressive batting display. They scored a formidable 191 runs for the loss of just two wickets in their 20 overs, with Lizelle Lee leading the charge with a consecutive stunning century, scoring 103 runs off 59 balls. Her explosive innings included 13 fours and 4 sixes, propelling the Hurricanes to a commanding total. Alongside her, Nicola Carey contributed significantly with a well-played 64 runs off 46 balls.

In response, the Adelaide Strikers Women struggled to keep up with the required run rate. Despite a promising start from Smriti Mandhana, who scored 51 runs off 32 balls, they ultimately fell short, managing only 163 runs for three wickets in their allotted overs. The Strikers’ innings was marked by solid performances from Laura Wolvaardt, who remained not out on 63 runs. However, failing to make a move by Strikers over Schutt’s early breakthrough in the initial phase of the game did became the reason for chasing a big total and losing the match by 28 runs. Hobart Hurricanes after secured their top position in the tournament with this convincing victory.
