In the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 match between England and New Zealand, England’s right-handed batswoman Natalie Sciver played one of the most outrageous cricket shot ever played by a cricketer – man or woman.
Sciver twice deflected full-length deliveries from New Zealand seamer Holly Huddleston for leg-side twos.
After her innings of 79 off 81 balls, Sciver admitted that the ‘Natmeg’ shot was a consequence of her wide stance at the crease getting her into difficulty while digging out leg-stump yorkers, rather than a conscious attempt to revive the drawn shot.

The most innovative shot of the year? One of the highlights of #WWC17 has to be @natsciver's Natmeg! #BestOf2017 pic.twitter.com/fIFLdVGBsk
