Alastair Cook reveals his all-time playing XI

Former England captain Alastair Cook has named his all-time playing eleven on Lords Youtube Channel. Much to the disbelief of the Indian fans, Cook picked no Indian player in his team – Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni did not find a place in the 32-year-old’s squad.

Cook stated that he picked only the players that he has played with or against during his career in his favourites team with legendary English batsman Graham Gooch being the only exception, owing to his world record for scoring the most runs in professional cricket.

There are two Englishmen, four Australians, two South Africans, one West Indian and two Sri Lankan players in the left-hander’s team.

He has included two players as wicket-keepers – AB de Villiers, Kumar Sangakkara and depending upon the requirement any one can fit in the role.

AB de Villiers , Kumar Sangakkara

List of players in Alastair Cook’s all-time XI:

Graham Gooch (England), Mathew Hayden (Australia), Brian Lara (West Indies), Ricky Ponting (Australia), AB de Villiers (wicket-keeper, South Africa), Kumara Sangakkara (wicket-keeper, Sri Lanka), Jacques Kallis (South Africa), Muttiah Muralitharan (Sri Lanka), Shane Warne (Australia), James Anderson (England), Glenn McGrath (Australia)
