Nair reacts to his Champions Trophy snub

In a recent chat, Nair spoke openly about his disappointment over the snub, revealing that his hunger to make a national comeback remains his primary motivation. The 33-year-old batter acknowledged that the possibility of returning to the Indian team continues to fuel his desire to perform at the highest level.

“Obviously, the possibility of an India comeback has to be on your mind. If you want to play for the country, you have to keep dreaming. There are these thoughts and dreams in the head but that’s just motivation,” Nair stated as quoted by Hindustan Times.

He further explained that his mindset is driven by the constant desire to improve and better his performances.

“The mindset comes from the hunger to keep getting better every single day when I go out to play. To not be happy with what you’ve done in the past to keep looking forward to doing better in the future,” added Nair.

Despite the disappointment of missing out on the Champions Trophy squad, Nair remains determined to continue working on his game, holding onto the hope that his chance to represent India will come soon.
