In a strategic move to maintain their competitive edge in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have announced the acquisition of two new international stars to replace the departing Sophie Devine and Kate Cross. Two star Australian players have been roped in to strengthen the team’s lineup.

Sophie Devine’s break from the game

Devine, a pivotal all-rounder for RCB, has been an instrumental part of the team since the inception of the WPL. Her aggressive batting style and handy medium-pace bowling have often turned matches in RCB’s favor. However, Devine has decided to take an indefinite break from domestic cricket, leading to her withdrawal from this year’s WPL.

Back injury leads to Kate Cross’ unavailability

England’s fast bowler Cross, renowned for her ability to generate swing and seam movement, has been sidelined since December due to a back injury. As a result, she will also be unavailable for RCB in the upcoming WPL season.
