Pakistan got off to a flying start against New Zealand during the inaugural match of the ODI tri-series among Pakistan, New Zealand and South Africa. The match is being played at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and is currently highlighted by the magnificent catch which Mohammad Rizwan took at the back of the stumps which marked the end of Will Young’s brief innings in the very first over of the game.

The incident occurred during the first over of the New Zealand innings as the visitors won the toss and decided to bat first. The skipper handed over Shaheen Afridi the responsibility to strike early and exert pressure on the Blackcaps batting line-up.

Pakistan’s pace sensation did exactly that as he bowled a breathtaking delivery outside off which tempts Young to play it towards the third man area. The ball takes a slight edge off his bat instead and sails behind the stumps only to be grabbed by Rizwan to complete the dismissal.

The dismissal sent early waves of thrill and excitement in the contest as Pakistan managed to put themselves in a commanding position by striking early on in the game. Young was sent back while the team’s total was just 4 runs. The New Zealand opener had earlier placed the previous delivery from Shaheen towards the boundary line.\
