The Dubai Capitals emerged victorious in a high-stakes final against the Desert Vipers, securing their maiden ILT20 title with a four-wicket win. Rovman Powell and Sikandar Raza played match-winning knocks to propel their team past a challenging target of 190 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Winning the toss, the Capitals opted to bowl first, looking to take advantage of the conditions under lights. The Vipers had a shaky start, losing Alex Hales (5) and Rahmanullah Gurbaz (5) early to Obed McCoy. However, Max Holden (76 off 51) played a crucial innings, stabilizing the innings alongside captain Curran (62 off 33).

Curran’s explosive unbeaten 62, featuring five fours and three sixes, ensured the Vipers finished strongly at 189/5 in 20 overs. Wicketkeeper Azam Khan (27 off 13) provided the late acceleration. McCoy (2/44) and Sikandar Raza (1/42) were among the wickets for Dubai Capitals.

Chasing 190 for victory, the Capitals lost early wickets, slipping to 31/3 inside five overs. Shai Hope (43 off 39) steadied the innings, but the game-changing partnership came from Powell (63 off 38) and Raza (34 off 12). Powell’s aggressive strokeplay, combined with Raza’s explosive late cameo, turned the match in Dubai’s favor. Raza’s five fours and one six in just 12 balls ensured the chase was completed with four balls to spare at 191/6 in 19.2 overs.
