The third season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will kick off on February 14, 2025, with a month-long extravaganza featuring 22 high-octane T20 matches across four Indian cities. The tournament, which has rapidly become a cornerstone of women’s cricket, will culminate in a grand finale at Mumbai’s iconic Brabourne Stadium on March 14, promising a thrilling showcase of talent and competition.
WPL 2025: Tournament Structure
This year’s WPL will see five franchises vie for supremacy in a format designed to maximize excitement. A total of 20 group-stage matches will be played, with each team facing their rivals twice. The top-ranked squad after the league phase will secure an automatic berth in the final, while teams finishing second and third will battle in an eliminator clash on March 12 to determine the second finalist.
All matches will begin at 7:30 pm IST to cater to prime-time viewership, with games hosted in Vadodara, Bengaluru, Lucknow and Mumbai. The inclusion of Lucknow as a new venue underscores the league’s expanding footprint, aiming to engage fans beyond traditional cricket hubs.
