Essex skipper Ryan ten Doeschate displayed an outstanding effort on the field at the boundary rope to take Sussex batsman Luke Wright‘s catch.
Ravi Bopara was bowling his second over of the spell when Wright decided to take him on and struck the ball right over the bowler’s head.
On seeing this, Doeschate came running down from straighter long off position towards the boundary and got his hands to catch the ball. He soon realized that the ball might get past the boundary for a six. In an almost a reflex action the 37-year-old Dutch threw the ball back in the air and completed the catch by coming back inside the boundary.
Before asking for a TV review to confirm the catch, the on-field umpire could not stop himself from laughing.
Two in two for @EssexCricket‼️
