Chasing 168, Mumbai reached the target with just one ball to spare, thanks to Amanjot Kaur’s match-winning all-round performance. While Ellyse Perry‘s breathtaking 81 off 43 balls propelled RCB to 167/7, Amanjot’s three wickets and an unbeaten 34* off 27 deliveries proved decisive in MI’s thrilling chase.

RCB’s innings revolved around a magnificent 81 from Perry, who single-handedly steered her side to a competitive total. Smriti Mandhana (26 off 13) provided a fiery start, but wickets tumbled in quick succession as Mumbai’s bowlers applied pressure. Perry, however, displayed immense class, smashing 11 fours and two sixes at an incredible strike rate of 188.37. She anchored the innings while forming crucial partnerships with Richa Ghosh (28 off 25) and Kim Garth (8 not out off 10).

Amanjot emerged as MI’s standout bowler, dismantling RCB’s middle order with figures of 3/22 in three overs. Shabnim Ismail (1/36) and Nat Sciver-Brunt (1/40) were expensive but managed key breakthroughs. Despite Perry’s heroics, RCB fell just short of the 170 mark, leaving MI with a challenging but gettable target.

However, Nat Sciver-Brunt launched a counterattack, smashing a blistering 42 off 21 balls with nine boundaries, keeping Mumbai ahead of the required rate. Her innings was cut short by a brilliant delivery from Garth, shifting momentum back to RCB.

Harmanpreet Kaur took charge after Sciver-Brunt’s dismissal, playing a captain’s knock of 50 off 38 balls. She timed her innings to perfection, mixing caution with aggression, and stitched a crucial partnership with Amanjot. RCB’s bowlers, led by Georgia Wareham (3/21), fought hard to keep the game in balance, but MI stayed in the hunt as the required rate remained within reach.

With 24 runs needed off the last three overs, Amanjot and G Kamalini absorbed the pressure and rotated the strike effectively. Amanjot, having already starred with the ball, played a mature knock under pressure, striking two boundaries and two sixes at a crucial strike rate of 125.92. Harmanpreet’s dismissal at 144/5 put MI in a tricky spot, but Amanjot’s composure in the final overs ensured they crossed the line.

RCB had their moments in the match, with Garth (2/30) and Ekta Bisht (1/37) making timely breakthroughs. However, the lack of a death-over specialist hurt them, as MI capitalized on loose deliveries to inch closer to victory. With two needed off two balls, Kamalini calmly guided the ball for a boundary, sealing a famous win for Mumbai Indians and earning herself the Player of the Match award for her exceptional all-round display.
