Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma divorce proceedings
Chahal and Dhanashree, who married in December 2020, have officially filed for divorce with mutual consent at the Bandra Family Court in Mumbai. The case is currently under judicial review, with both parties agreeing to part ways due to compatibility issues. Despite reports suggesting that the divorce has been finalized, Dhanashree’s legal representative, Aditi Mohan, clarified that the matter remains sub judice and no official decision has been made.
“I have no comments to make on the proceedings; the matter is currently sub judice. The media should fact-check before reporting, as a lot of misleading information is being circulated,” Mohan said in a statement released on Friday afternoon.
Family denies alimony claims
The rumor about Dhanashree demanding Rs 60 crore in alimony has been widely discussed but lacks any concrete evidence. Dhanashree’s family issued a strong statement dismissing these claims as “baseless” and emphasized that no such amount has ever been asked, demanded, or even offered. They expressed deep outrage over the irresponsible reporting of these unverified figures, which not only mislead the public but also cause unnecessary distress to both families.
As per Bombay Times, addressing these claims, a family member clarified, “We are deeply outraged by the baseless claims being circulated about the alimony figure. Let me be absolutely clear—no such amount has ever been asked, demanded, or even offered. There is no truth to these rumors whatsoever. It is deeply irresponsible to publish such unverified information, dragging not just the parties but also their families into unnecessary speculation. Reckless reporting like this only causes harm, and we urge the media to exercise restraint and fact-check before spreading misinformation and also be respectful towards everyone’s privacy.”
