India and New Zealand are tied on points in Group A, with their final group match determining the group winner and, consequently, their semifinal opponents. If India win against New Zealand, they will top Group A and face Australia in the first semifinal on March 4 at the Dubai International Stadium. Conversely, if New Zealand emerge victorious, they will top the group, and India will face South Africa in the semifinal.
Dinesh Karthik’s analysis
Karthik, known for his astute cricketing analysis, has expressed his preference for India’s semifinal opponent.
During a Q&A session on Cricbuzz, the veteran wicketkeeper-batter shared his thoughts on India’s performance in the ongoing Champions Trophy, stating that the team is performing exceptionally well. His words have held true, as Rohit & Co. have maintained their unbeaten streak in the tournament. India secured convincing six-wicket victories over both Bangladesh and Pakistan in their last two matches.
When asked to choose his preference, Karthik said: “India is actually playing well, but if given a choice, I would pick Australia.”
