Sri Lanka vs India 4th ODI: Debutant Shardul Thakur dismissed Sri Lankan opener Niroshan Dickwella to pick up his first wicket in ODI cricket. It wasn’t the best of deliveries but he got lucky and made a good start to his career.
It all happened on the 4th ball of Shardul’s second over of 2nd innings. Dickwella gloved a delivery to MS Dhoni and the wicket-keeper was the only one who was appealing for it. But the umpire denied it by signaling a wide.
But after the wide signal, Dhoni told skipper Virat Kohli that he heard something while passing the glove. After hearing this from Dhoni, suddenly Kohli went for the DRS.
Later the TV replay confirmed that there was a fine nick off the gloves. Young Shardul got his man just because of MSD. Umpire changed his decision and raised his finger.
