Indian opening batsman Rohit Sharma took to Instagram to troll teammate Shardul Thakur over his jersey number 10. Rohit posted a picture of Thakur busy talking to someone at the dining table and wrote, “Hey bro what’s your jersey number?”
Shardul, who made his debut in the fourth ODI against Sri Lanka, was earlier slammed by fans for choosing batting legend Sachin Tendulkar‘s jersey number 10.
Indian cricket fans brutally trolled and took a dig at the youngster for putting on that number, and claimed that he does not deserve to wear a jersey of that stature at the beginning of his career.
However, Shardul in an interview revealed the reason behind choosing number 10 shirt on his debut.
It was the numerology! Thakur wore jersey number 10 because the sum of his date of birth which is October 16, 1991 is [(1+6)+(1+0)+(1+9+9+1) = 7+1+(2+0) = 10] 10.
Well, hope that this explanation will work with angry fans who asked Thakur to give up the number 10 jersey.
