A well-timed break: Preparing for a comeback

While basking in the bliss of fatherhood, Labuschagne is expected to take a short break from competitive cricket before returning to English county cricket in a bid to revive his form ahead of a packed international calendar.

The 2024–25 season proved to be his most challenging in Tests, where he averaged just 25.63, his lowest since his Test debut in 2018, and failed to notch up a single century. His once robust overall Test average has now slipped to 46.76, reflecting a rare dip in consistency. With the World Test Championship final against South Africa scheduled for June 2025, Labuschagne is set to rejoin Glamorgan in England- a familiar environment where he has often found rhythm and success, as he eyes a strong comeback on the global stage. Labuschagne recently led Queensland in the Sheffield Shield final, where they fell to South Australia by four wickets.
