Anamul Haque returns to Test side after three years
In a notable change, experienced opener Anamul Haque has been recalled to the national Test side after a gap of three years. The 32-year-old has been in red-hot form in the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, and recently etched his name in history as the first Bangladeshi batter to score 50 centuries in recognised cricket. His last Test appearance came in 2022.
Changes from the first Test squad
Bangladesh have made two changes to the squad that featured in the opening match. Alongside Anamul’s return, the team has included left-arm spinner Tanvir Islam, who is yet to debut in Tests. He replaced Nahid Rana, who is expected to turn out for Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025. Opener Zakir Hasan, who was not included in the playing XI for the first Test, has been dropped from the squad.
