The Indian Premier League (IPL) is the carnival of cricketing excellence, attracting top talents from around the globe and providing a platform for them to shine. Over the years, the cash rich league has seen numerous cricketers don the jerseys of multiple franchises. Two prominent teams, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have too shared several players who have left their mark on both franchises.

Here are the players who have played for both LSG and RCB in the IPL T20:

1. Krunal Pandya

Krunal Pandya, a seasoned all-rounder, is known for his effective left-arm spin and explosive middle-order batting. His IPL journey began with the Mumbai Indians (MI), where he built a reputation as a dependable performer. In 2022 auction, Krunal joined the LSG and quickly became a key figure in their inaugural season. Between 2022-2024, Krunal played 43 matches for LSG, scoring 504 runs at a strike rate of around 140 and taking 25 wickets with his economical bowling. His ability to anchor the innings and break crucial partnerships played a vital role in LSG’s playoff runs in two seasons.

In IPL 2025 auction, RCB acquired Krunal for INR 5.75 crore, valuing his experience and all-round abilities. He has already begun to prove his worth for RCB, particularly in a match against Delhi Capitals (DC) in 2025, where his tight bowling and crucial unbeaten 73 helped RCB chase down a low total. Krunal’s addition strengthens RCB’s spin department and provides greater flexibility in the middle order, making him a crucial asset for the team.

In 2024, LSG traded him to the Mumbai Indians (MI), but his journey continued as RCB acquired him for ₹1.5 crore in the 2025 auction.

Shepherd made an immediate impression at RCB, his fiery innings against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) earned him the match of the match award. His ability to contribute with both bat and ball brings valuable balance to RCB’s lineup, particularly offering depth in the death overs and firepower in the lower order. His transition from LSG to RCB highlights the IPL’s fluid and competitive transfer ecosystem, where versatile players like Shepherd can find new opportunities to thrive.

During his time with the franchise, he played 39 matches, took 14 wickets, and contributed some useful runs in the lower order. Known for his economical bowling and ability to deliver timely breakthroughs, Shahbaz played a key role in RCB’s 2022 playoff campaign, adding balance to the side with his all-round capabilities.

In 2023, RCB traded him to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in exchange for Mayank Dagar. However, his IPL journey took another turn in 2025 when he joined Lucknow. His versatility as a spinner and lower-order batsman fits well with LSG’s strategy of strengthening their pool of all-rounders. While his impact at LSG is still unfolding, Shahbaz’s experience in RCB’s high-pressure environment prepares him well to meet the expectations of a team striving for its first IPL title.
