For years, cricket fans and Bollywood watchers alike have speculated about the possibility of Sara Tendulkar—daughter of legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar—making a splash in the Hindi film industry. Now, Sara herself has opened up regarding the rumours of her making a debut in the film industry.
Sara Tendulkar breaks silence on Bollywood buzz
While the world may have imagined a blockbuster debut for Sara, her own thoughts on acting paint a vastly different picture. In an age where celebrity children often walk straight into film sets, Sara has chosen to stay true to herself.
“I do multiple things. The foundation is my full-time focus, but I also work in the fashion, beauty and lifestyle space as a creator. I try to take up what feels authentic to me, I don’t say yes to everything,” said Sara as quoted by VOGUE India.
Speaking about the long-standing curiosity around her potential entry into Bollywood, Sara put all speculation to rest with a firm and honest response. She revealed that despite receiving multiple film offers, she has declined every one of them. For her, acting wouldn’t be a fulfilling experience.
“Acting is not something I’m interested in. I’m an introvert and cameras scare me. I’ve turned down all movie inquiries because I don’t think I would do justice to the job. It would just give me more anxiety than it would give me satisfaction,” added Sara.

Sara on growing up as Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter
Despite being the daughter of the greatest cricketer in Indian history, Sara reflects on her upbringing as relatively grounded. While her father was rewriting record books across the globe, she was just another child enjoying time with friends and schoolwork. This sense of simplicity and normalcy helped shape her view of fame. Unlike many who chase the spotlight, Sara sees authenticity as her priority.
“I had a normal childhood, playing in my colony with friends, attending classes. Paparazzi culture wasn’t so extreme. Now [paparazzi] are just everywhere, even in restaurants and gyms. In terms of keeping up appearances, I try to be as authentic to myself as possible. There are no airport looks. I wear what I feel like,” Sara added further.
