India beat Australia by 7 wickets in the 5th ODI to clinch the series 4-1, ensuring that India moves up to number 1 position in the ICC team rankings which they had lost after the loss in Bengaluru.
The star of the series was Hardik Pandya. The all-rounder also bagged ‘Man of the Series’ for his match-winning performances throughout the series.
In 5 matches, Pandya scored 222 runs at an average of 55.50 and bagged six wickets. While MS Dhoni set the tone in India’s win in Chennai, it was Pandya who totally blew away the Aussies with his 83 runs innings in the series opener in Chennai.
