IPL 2025: List of England and West Indies players who’ll miss the remaining season

After an unexpected halt earlier in the season due to the India-Pakistan border escalation, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is finally set to resume. However, the revised schedule now clashes with key international fixtures, forcing several players to leave mid-season. England and West Indies cricketers are among the notable absentees due to national duty, with some teams losing key match-winners ahead of the playoffs.

Both the England and West Indies cricket boards have officially announced their squads for the upcoming white-ball series, which will begin on May 29, 2025. With national commitments taking precedence, several players currently active in IPL 2025 will report back to their respective teams ahead of the series.

Here are the list of England and West Indies players set to miss the remaining matches of IPL:

  • Sam Curran: The left-hand pace all-rounder from England pulled out from the remaining season. With Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) campaign already over, it won’t be a much concern for the side.
  • Will Jacks: A blistering all-rounder for Mumbai Indians (MI) is also uncertain for the remaining season, Jacks’ batting firepower and run-containing spells will be a big miss in MI’s quest for sixth title.
  • Jamie Overton: A fast-bowling all-rounder, Overton offers pace and lower-order hitting. Jamie’s absence won’t be an issue for CSK.
  • Jofra Archer: A speed gun Jofra Archer is another in the list who have pulled out from the struggling Rajasthan Royals (RR)
  • Shimron Hetmyer: Another player from RR, Shimron Hetmyer is also uncertain for the remaining season. The left-hand explosive batter had a poor season with the bat this year.

With several key players set to miss the remaining season of the IPL, it presents a golden opportunity for young and emerging talents to shine on the big stage. This is their moment to step up, prove their potential, and earn the trust of teams and fans for future tournaments.
