England pacer Sam Cook made an instant impact on his Test debut, claiming his maiden wicket in style as he removed Zimbabwe opener Ben Curran with a picture-perfect delivery on Day 2 of the one-off Test at Trent Bridge.

Cook, known for his accuracy and ability to move the ball both ways, struck early in Zimbabwe’s innings to give England the breakthrough they were looking for. The moment marked a significant milestone for the 26-year-old seamer and was a classic example of traditional red-ball bowling.

The dismissal came in just the fourth over of Zimbabwe’s reply. Cook bowled a good length delivery that angled into the off-stump before shaping away off the seam. Curran, caught in two minds, was completely squared up by the movement and ended up edging it to the slips.

Harry Brook, stationed at second slip, made no mistake as he safely pouched the sharp chance. Cook, understandably elated, let out a huge roar as his teammates surrounded him in celebration. It was a moment the Essex bowler would cherish for years to come.
