In a fitting finale to Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) IPL 2025 campaign, Heinrich Klaasen produced one of the most explosive innings in tournament history, scoring an unbeaten 105 off just 39 balls to power his side to a commanding 110-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their last league match. The South African wicketkeeper-batter’s performance not only secured a memorable win for SRH but also prompted an emotional message to team owner Kavya Maran, highlighting both gratitude and reflection after a rollercoaster season.
Heinrich Klaasen hits a record-breaking ton for SRH
Asked to bat first at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, SRH’s top order fired on all cylinders. After a brisk start from openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head, Klaasen took center stage, reaching his fifty in just 17 balls and then racing to a 37-ball century—making it the fastest for the Sunrisers in IPL history. He finished unbeaten on 105, laced with nine sixes and seven fours, as SRH posted a mammoth 278/3 in their allotted 20 overs. This total proved far beyond KKR’s reach, as they were bowled out for 168 in 18.4 overs, sealing a comprehensive win for the Pat Cummins-led side.
Klaasen’s special message for Kavya Maran & Co.
After playing a match-winning knock, Klaasen spilt beans on the faith and backing shown by SRH CEO Kavya Maran and the management throughout the season.
“Franchise has invested a lot of money but we didn’t perform well. The owners gave us incredible support. They have been in the business for 12-14 years,” Klaasen said as quoted by CricToday. He added: “I couldn’t do what I wanted to do. I found my trajectory against KKR. I have been working on picking the line and length of the bowlers. I feel proud when I am able to do the job for my franchise.”
Klassen’s message to Maran was both a note of thanks and a promise for better performances ahead, underlining the responsibility he feels as one of the team’s marquee players.

SRH’s performance in IPL 2025
The win against KKR was a bright spot in an otherwise inconsistent season for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Despite assembling a star-studded squad and making high-profile signings, SRH finished sixth in the standings with 13 points from 14 matches. While Klaasen and Abhishek both crossed the 400-run mark, the team struggled for consistency, particularly in their bowling department, which frequently leaked runs.
