As the thrilling season of IPL 2025 nears its dramatic conclusion, the stakes are higher than ever. On Sunday, June 1, cricket fans will witness a crucial Qualifier 2 encounter between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The winner of this high-pressure clash will seal a spot in the grand finale, where they will challenge the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for the coveted title on June 3.
With both PBKS and MI showcasing resilience and brilliance throughout the tournament, the upcoming battle promises to be a blockbuster. While MI will rely on their experience and big-match temperament, PBKS will look to carry their recent momentum and hope to break into IPL final.
Shikhar Dhawan predicts the IPL 2025 winner
Veteran Indian opener and former PBKS skipper Shikhar Dhawan has weighed in with his prediction for the IPL 2025 winner ahead of the all-important Qualifier 2. Speaking ahead of the match, Dhawan expressed his admiration for the way Mumbai Indians have shaped their campaign.
“This time, the IPL has been very exciting. For the finals, my support will be with Mumbai Indians. The Mumbai Indians team is playing really well, they are very balanced. The way they’ve gained momentum is outstanding, and they are a very strong and well-balanced team. So, I’m with Mumbai Indians,” said Dhawan.
Dhawan’s support for MI comes as no surprise considering their resurgence this season. Despite a few hiccups early on, the five-time champions have found rhythm at the right time—making them strong title contenders once again.
