In a dramatic turn of events during the second match of Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025, something truly unexpected happened, leaving both fans and commentators puzzled. MI New York’s (MINY) veteran all-rounder Kieron Pollard suffered a rare brain fade moment that not only cost him his wicket but also proved to be a turning point in the match.
Kieron Pollard’s bizarre run-out stunned fans
The moment unfolded when MI New York was chasing a daunting target of 186 against the Texas Super Kings (TSK) at the Oakland Coliseum, California. In the 17th over of the high-pressure clash, Daryl Mitchell bowled a fuller delivery on the leg stump. Pollard attempted a heave, but the ball deflected off his pads and rolled towards the leg side. Meanwhile, Mitchell slid in collected the ball swiftly, and hit the bullseye at the bowler’s end to dismiss Pollard.
What shocked everyone was Pollard’s unexpected lapse in awareness. He was seen casually jogging mid-pitch, not even watching the ball or assessing the situation. By the time he realized the danger and tried to sprint back, it was already too late. Mitchell’s sharp fielding and presence of mind sealed the run-out. Pollard’s uncharacteristic misjudgment left fans speechless and proved to be a massive turning point in the game.
