Veteran Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja recently took to social media to correct an error in a post shared by his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), just ahead of India’s highly anticipated five-match Test series in England.
CSK post blunder spotted by Ravindra Jadeja ahead of ENG vs IND Tests
On June 13, CSK posted a collage on Instagram featuring Jadeja in Test whites, showing images from his previous tours to England in 2014, 2021, and the current 2025 series. The caption accompanying the post read, 2014 ➡️ 2021 ➡️ 2025

While the post was intended to celebrate Jadeja’s Test journey in England, it missed one crucial detail, Jadeja had also toured England in 2018. The 36-year-old cricketer was quick to point this out himself, commenting “2018” under the post to remind his franchise and followers of his presence during that year’s tour. The correction not only highlighted a factual oversight but also served as a subtle reminder of Jadeja’s longevity and consistent role in India’s Test setup across multiple eras.

Jadeja’s England Test track record as an all-rounder
Jadeja’s Test career in England reflects both resilience and adaptability. Having toured England now for the fourth time, Jadeja’s track record in English conditions stands out for its steady contributions with both bat and ball. In 10 Test matches played on English soil, he has scored 563 runs in 19 innings at a batting average of 31.28. These runs include three half-centuries and a century. With the ball, Jadeja has picked up 22 wickets in 17 innings at a bowling average of 46.14. His best bowling figures in an innings in England are 4/79, and while these stats might not be as eye-catching as his performances in India, they illustrate his role as a holding bowler who can keep the runs in check and strike at crucial moments.
As India gears up for their five-Test assignment against England starting June 20 at Headingley, Leeds, Jadeja stands as the most experienced member of the squad. His overall record in Test cricket further cements his legacy as one of India’s greatest all-rounders. Specifically against England, his numbers are also noteworthy: 1,031 runs in 20 Tests at an average of 33.25, with two centuries and six fifties, along with 70 wickets in 37 innings at an average of 32.57. Both of his five-wicket hauls against England came in India, showcasing his dominance at home while still offering valuable spells abroad.
