MS Dhoni moving to New Zealand? KRK claims shift with family

Speculation is rife regarding a potential life-altering decision by one of India’s most enigmatic cricketers, Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Rumours, primarily fuelled by controversial public figure Kamaal Rashid Khan (KRK) and social media chatter, suggest the former India captain is considering a move to New Zealand with his wife Sakshi and daughter Ziva, as his illustrious Indian Premier League (IPL) career reportedly nears its conclusion.

MS Dhoni, known for his reclusive nature away from the cricketing spotlight, has cultivated an aura of mystery since his international retirement in 2019. Often found embracing agricultural pursuits or seeking solace in the mountains, his life post-cricket has largely been shielded from public scrutiny. However, recent claims from KRK, widely recognised for his sensational and often unsubstantiated pronouncements on Indian celebrities, have thrust Dhoni’s private life back into the headlines.

MS Dhoni is moving to New Zealand, claims KRK

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), KRK asserted that Dhoni is preparing to relocate to New Zealand. This claim was made alongside similar assertions about other prominent Indian personalities, specifically ace cricketer Virat Kohli and Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi. While KRK’s history includes a pattern of making provocative statements without credible backing, it is noteworthy that the alleged moves of Kohli and Oberoi have, in fact, gained traction from more reputable sources.

Indeed, reports from several media outlets indicate that Virat and his wife Anushka Sharma have largely shifted their base to London. The primary motivation cited for their move is a desire to provide their children, Vamika and Akaay, with a more private and normal upbringing away from the incessant media glare and public attention prevalent in India.

Regarding Dhoni’s alleged move, a separate social media user further speculated on the underlying reasons. This user’s post suggested that Sakshi is keen on ensuring family privacy, which is reportedly challenging in India given Dhoni’s demi-god status, and wishes for their daughter Ziva to pursue her education in New Zealand. While these reasons align with the motivations expressed by other celebrities opting for international residences, it remains pure speculation regarding the Dhoni family’s specific intentions.

Dhoni named New Zealand as the safest place to live after India

Interestingly, in previous interviews, Dhoni has expressed his fondness for New Zealand. While the exact phrasing of him deeming it the “safest” place he would like to wake up in has been circulating in rumour mills, his general appreciation for the country’s tranquil environment and beauty is an aspect that has been informally acknowledged.

As of now, there has been no official statement from Dhoni or his family regarding these relocation rumours. His focus remains on his commitments with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL and his agricultural endeavours. The whispers of a move to New Zealand, therefore, remain confined to the realm of social media conjecture and the claims of individuals known for their controversial commentary, despite the verified moves of other celebrities for similar reasons of privacy and lifestyle. The mystery surrounding ‘Captain Cool’ continues, leaving fans to wonder about his next big off-field move.
