Indian fast bowler Mukesh Kumar has stirred conversation across social media with his recent Instagram story. Mukesh has already made his debut for the Indian team in all three formats, impressing with his ability to bowl accurate lines and lengths. The story quickly went viral and became the talk of the town, with netizens widely associating it with his exclusion from the upcoming Test series against England.

Mukesh Kumar’s Instagram story sparks

Despite a solid performance in the first unofficial Test against the England Lions, Mukesh was left out of the squad for the second game. Meanwhile, pacer Harshit Rana earned a India call-up. Notably, Mukesh posted his Instagram story just a day after Harshit’s selection was announced.

In the story Mukesh wrote “Karma bides its time. You will always have to watch out. Karma is unforgiving and always gets payback,” which subtly indicates his frustration after being overlooked by the BCCI.

An overview of Mukesh and Harshit Rana in Tests

Mukesh, known for his consistent line and length and ability to swing the ball, has been out of the Indian Test playing XI for a while. The pacer last featured in a Test match against England in Visakhapatnam last year. Since then, he has struggled to cement his place in the side. In three Test matches, Mukesh has taken 7 wickets at a respectable average of 25.57. His best performance came against the West Indies in 2023, where he claimed 2 wickets without conceding a run. He has been a vital part of India A squad over the years with a significant First-class experience.

Harshit, on the other hand, made his Test debut against Australia last year in Perth during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–25. However, the tour proved to be a difficult one for him. Known for his raw pace, he managed to pick up only 3 wickets in 2 matches, with a high average of nearly 40. His performance was marred by inaccurate short deliveries and inconsistent lengths, often appearing ineffective against the Australian batting lineup.
