After Team India’s heartbreaking 22-run loss to England in the final session on the last day at Lord’s, several Bollywood celebrities took to social media to share heartfelt messages. The heartbreaking defeat left Indian fans in agony, and Bollywood celebrities were no different. After the narrow loss, stars from the film industry praised the Indian team’s fighting spirit and resilience, applauding their efforts in a tense and closely contested match that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

Here’s how Bollywood celebrities reacted on India’s loss: 

1. Athiya Shetty, wife of Indian cricketer KL Rahul, posted a story on Instagram saying, “What a fight, incredible,” as she praised Team India’s spirited performance at Lord’s.

2. Meanwhile, Athiya’s father and legendary Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty didn’t hold back. He took to X to share his thoughts, saying, “Not every battle ends in victory—but it’s the battle that defines you. It’s about the fight you bring to the field. The young Team India may have lost at Lord’s, but they showed heart, hunger, and what they’re truly made of. Proud of the grit,”

3. Another renowned Bollywood actor, Sonu Sood, also shared a heartfelt message on X following India’s defeat: “Jadeja, Bumrah, Siraj—you didn’t just bat… you battled. The scoreboard doesn’t show your heart. Respect,”

4. Indian actress Saiyami Kher also expressed her emotions on X, writing, “Absolutely heartbroken. We came so, so close. What incredible character shown by Jadeja, Bumrah, and Siraj! And Rahul has been outstanding. Five incredible days of Test cricket—truly the best form of the game,”

India’s narrow defeat against England in Lord’s 

In the third match of the series, Team India endured a heartbreaking defeat, falling just 22 runs short of victory. India failed to achieve the target of 193 runs set by the hosts. The match ended in dramatic fashion when Mohammed Siraj was dismissed in an unusual manner, crushing India’s hopes. Ravindra Jadeja showcased tremendous grit and resilience, playing a knock of 70 runs by facing 181 balls, fighting through the final session with determination. Despite his valiant effort and fighting partnership with bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah and Siraj, India couldn’t cross the finish line in what turned out to be a nail-biting thriller at Lord’s. India are now currently behind 2-1 margin so far in the five-match series under Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
