Former Indian batsman VVS Laxman is known to every cricket fan as the “very very special” batsman. A part of the famed fabulous four who played for India, Laxman’s record against Australia is something to look up to, especially in Australia.
He recently picked his “Dream Test XI” for Star Sports India channel, where he is a part of the commentary team.
In his dream team, Laxman has picked 4 Australian cricketers. He picked David Warner to open the innings with one of the modern greats from South Africa, Hashim Amla.
Laxman has added Aussie skipper Steve Smith in the middle order apart from fuelling his bowling pack with pacers Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood. The 43-year old has named two Indians in his list- Indian captain Virat Kohli and spin spearhead Ravichandran Ashwin.
VVS has put in New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson in the third spot and Kohli at number 4. The next spot is filled up by England captain Joe Root.
South Africa’s star AB de Villiers has been placed in the lower middle-order and has been assigned the glovework. Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib-Al-Hasan will join Ashwin in the spin department.
