A bizarre incident took place at Feroz Shah Kotla after lunch on the second day when the Sri Lankan players came out to field with their masks on to combat the polluted air in Delhi.
In fact, the situation was so serious that for a while it looked like the Sri Lankan side made up their minds on not continuing and their captain Dinesh Chandimal was also seen talking to the on-field umpires.
But amidst all this, a loud cheer was heard on the ground and the reason behind it was none other than Indian captain Virat Kohli.
At a time when other players were finding it tough even to stay on the field, Kohli was seen making the most of the break as he lied down on the ground to do a few stretches. It was a remarkable sight as Kohli had already scored his 6th double century in Tests and was batting without any mask.
The incident happened when India’s score was 519 for 6.

However, India declared at 536 for 7 after the ‘smog’ drama by the Sri Lankan players.
