The speculation surrounding the wedding of Team India captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma has been doing rounds on the internet.
While there have been talks of the couple tying the knot in Italy, international cricket venue in Australia, the Adelaide Oval, has now invited the duo to get married at the ground.
The management of the iconic stadium, which recently hosted the second Ashes Test has expressed the desire to host the celebrity wedding.
The venue’s CEO Andrew Daniels while speaking to the Hindustan Times said, “We would be thrilled to host Virat and Anushka’s wedding at Adelaide Oval. How fantastic would it be for Virat to create more happy memories here, considering his outstanding playing history at the Oval.”
Daniels also gave details on how the Adelaide Oval staff would make this function memorable (only if Virat agrees). He said, “With 26 purpose-built function spaces to choose from, combined with a showcase of South Australia’s finest food and wine it would be an unforgettable day for the future Mr and Mrs Kohli and their guests.”
The Adelaide Oval has recently undergone a massive renovation which transformed the 146-year-old stadium into an exquisite modern stadium after a whopping cost of 535 million Australian dollars was spent.
The venue also saw a record-breaking 55,000 spectators turn up for the second Test of the ongoing Ashes Tests, which Australia won by 120 runs.
